How to choose and use suitable grinding discs?

Abrasive discs are often used in ground renovation treatment. Generally speaking, abrasive discs can be divided into diamond soft discs, concrete diamond discs, concrete water discs and ground renovation discs. However, according to different ground conditions, the most suitable abrasive discs need to be selected for treatment. Today, we will explain several important factors affecting the selection of abrasive discs.

1. Flatness of the Ground

Artificial polishing and leveling of the ground or loose, seriously damaged old ground, need to leveling or remove the loose surface, need to use a high-power grinder, choose concrete diamond grinding discs and other grinding power, suitable for leveling the grinding discs.

Cement self-leveling ground or polishing machine mechanical leveling ground smoothness is better, only using diamond resin grinding can make beautiful polishing ground, grinding is also more economical.

2. Hardness of Ground

The concrete used in the design and construction of concrete ground is expressed by labels, that is, C20, C25, C30 and so on. Under normal circumstances, the higher the label, the better the strength and hardness of concrete. However, due to the influence of various factors, the label of concrete and the hardness of ground are often not corresponding.

The hardness of concrete floor is usually expressed by Mohr hardness.  The hardness of concrete floor is usually between 3 and 5. On the construction site, we can use some substitutes instead of Mohr hardness tester to understand the hardness of the ground: the hardness of hollow scratches can be scratched with nails and keys is less than 5, otherwise the hardness is greater than 5.

3. Weight and Speed of Grinding Machine

Floor grinders are usually divided into small, medium and large types. Generally speaking, the bigger the machine is, the bigger the power is, the higher the efficiency is; in actual use, the bigger the machine is, the better the efficiency is. Although the grinding efficiency is very high, the excessive grinding often results in excessive grinding in use, which increases the construction cost. Experienced workers will adjust machine speed, moving speed, number of grinding discs and machine weight according to machine characteristics, reduce construction costs and improve construction efficiency.

4. Types and Particle Size of Grinding Plates

The most commonly used abrasives for floor treatment are PCD, metal and resin based abrasives. PCD abrasives are used to remove the thick coating on the floor surface, metal based abrasives are used for surface pretreatment and rough grinding, and resin based abrasives are used for surface roughing, fine grinding, fine grinding and polishing.
